i am bob Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 There is a slight difference in the formulation of the low dosage and regular aspirin. Taking the full dosage pill and cutting it will work but it is hard on your stomach (so the doc says) and can result in ulcers or bowel irritation. Well, gee, I had that from the low dosage pill! But no worries because I don't have to take any. I control my blood through diet, lots of ssssseeeexxx... I mean, exercise, and a daily magnesium pill. I have been doing some research lately due to my health issues that turned out to be my meds - and I have aslo been contracted to co-write some articles on some pharmaceuticals. After going through too many medical studies on using aspirin for stroke prevention et al? Turns out that most researchers now agree that it wasn't the aspirin but the magnesium that was beneficial. So our writing venture turned to who would prescribe magnesium for your heart... Cadiologists? Nah... Homeopathic doctors... Anyone who has gained knowledge on the health side of things... Or just walk in to your vitamin section of the store and get some. As I mentioned in a previous post, due to some discrete nudging by a *ahem* cardiologist who recognised what my medical issues were and how the meds I was "required to take", well, let's just say that I am now taking magnesium, hawthorn and Co Q-10 as my daily heart "medication". In only a few weeks I feel better, the issues from the meds are gone AND my heart tests show 2 to 3 times better than at any time under the med system. A couple years ago, I had a defibulator installed in my chest and given a life expectancy of only a couple years. Today I do not have a defibulator - it's been removed. 2 years ago I had issues walking unless I was on my meds. Today and without meds, I can jog - once I get my knees back in shape for lack of cartilage... Just doing the research to find out what is best to help repair that issue now... hehe!

i am bob Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Nice call! Sometimes the natural supplements can do better than the docs can for us and sometimes we need a combination of both. I'm not sure if you saw my latest update (this morning) - I ended up in Afib again but a quick Cardio Version snapped it out of me. I will be seeing a cardiologist on the 25th for a follow-up but I have not been on meds for several months and I'm not on meds now other than my supplements. And I suspect the Afib was attributed to extreme stress these past 2 weeks while moving, doing the entire move myself (what a great physical workout), helping my sister at her house (she is out of commission with 2 torn Rotator Cuffs) by cleaning out her extremely full garage (13.5 hours later) and then doing other jobs around the house for her. Atrial Fibrillation is usually attributed to stress, over-exertion, lack of sleep and being overweight. Did I mention I lost over 20 pounds recently? Only 40 more to go! hehe! Medic Mike Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 We all know that here in the PI you can go pick up nearly any kind of drug without a perscription. the perscription chit you receive from your Doc is more of guide and written instruction just to be sure the pharmacist gets it right. It does't carry the legal weight the chit carries in the US. If you know what you need from a prior doctors visit and perscription you can Usually walk into any pharmacy and just ask for what you need. So in I stroll to Rose pharmacy. looking for bottles of asprin. Non on the shelf. I go to the counter. "yes i need some Asprin low dosage 80mg . Pharmacist yes sir , may i have your perscription? I don't have one ma'am its only asprin. I try to take asprin everyday like a vitamin. " Oh but in the Philippines you must have perscription for Asprin. "ya gotta be kidding me...." "Geez ok so how about 10 pcs Vicadin?" . "yes sir thank you no problem !" That is toooo funny :)
