Americano Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Having your marriage recorded at NSO is what causes the problems by being married in the Philippines which is why its better to be married in another country if possible. You can still have your marriage recorded at NSO if you're sure you will never get a divorce.
Papa Carl Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I asked my Filipino Attorney about this, and he confirmed that yes the divorce was recognized outside of the Philippines, however not inside of the Philippines, so if she returned, with our without her new husband she would be considered as still married to her original husband. However he did stated that getting an annulment here in the Philippines while producing a foreign divorce would assist in procuring an annulment, as it is considered as "just cause" for the annulment.
