jpbago Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Now for a good report .... we went to CDR King as my 12yo Logitech keyboard took a crap on me so until I can get around to fixing it I bought a cheap multi-media wired keyboard from them ... my god was it a pleasure shopping in the CDK .... not only is it new and well maintained they have loads of stuff there ... including the new scooters that they are now selling ... staff was VERY pleasant and helpful .... In Bacolod, CDR King in Robinson's is good too but the one in SM is too small and too busy.

Big difference from the super crowded SM and busy Robinsons. Did not see a CDR King in Gasanos. In fact we loved the Alaya and metro in Talisay, nice strip mall, good restaurant choices and uncrowded super market. Was a nice day which included a visit to The Ruins. Also mention the organic shop there, sorry forgot name but connected with mays organic farm. We purchased some rather unusual organic beer, yet to try. Again helpful staff but trying to obtain change for P500 was a task indeed.

We visit Bacolod twice a month for a couple of nights. We decided always stay different hotel and try different restos. This time we were totally delighted with our hotel choice. Even more so as we're on the big bike and had spent about two hours trying to find a recently closed Indian resto. Must of been hottest day this year and Bacolod traffic can be demanding at peak times. Anyway to the point we came across Saltimboca Tourist Inn. This little Inn is superbly located just a minutes walk to all the lummies in Lacson St. Totally unpretentious with very low key entrance, foyer, neat little zen type garden and lovely little pool. Although trip report gives mixed views we found staff most helpful and friendly. Our room was mosquito free, heaps cabinets, small closet and two seconds to the pool. Again not fancy frills but all the necessities were there. Hot shower and cable. Wi fi in the lovely little garden and foyer. Rate was P1100 including breakfast. The lack of glamor and glitz may deter some how ever personally shall find it hard to not to return next trip. As a side note, about 20 meters after Robinson,Is now a superb resto selling also Mexican food, Shaun Diner, excellent food at very modest prices. As I understand it was called spice bites. Kind of hard to see from the street due to signs and such. For Shaun Diner, do you come out of Robinson's, then go right towards central? Is there a pottery place next door? Thanks shall check it out next trip. Shaun Diner is left coming out of Robinsons, about 20----30 meters up road. Beside a car wash. We pre paid some somosas which they kindly made for us to bring home. Had a couple yesterday for lunch, excellent size and quality.
