Mike S Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Again going back to the culture thing .... both boys and girls from the time they are born are told how gwapo or gwapa they are constantly every day some times all day long every time they see the kid so it is a small wonder they grow up thinking the are cute even when they are down right ugly .... I finally just gave up on my asawa and don't say anything any more when she tells me I'm gwapo .... I used to tell her ... you and i both know that is BS so you don't need to say it .... or now you are making bola bola to me ..... but it makes no difference it is born into them to say it ..... like eating rice .... :mocking: ..... Commercials here are also geared to the white skinned gwapo people and also the issue of Pinoy pride is constantly pushed on the TV .... radio and print .... so what can you expect if it is repeated long enough and often enough you will soon believe it is true even if it isn't ..... I have noticed that this type of brainwashing usually only occurs in 3rd world countries ..... maybe because they (the people) are so poor they need to have something to believe in or hold to ..... JMHO :cheersty:
Bruce Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 Well 'whitening' products are sold everyday in stores in Catbalogan. As for me being 'less than attractive'... that is a sure thing. But the local women seem to like my nose! Like to touch it.
lyno 47 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Well as for me there is an old saying you cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear.My wife puts on make up even if she is not going out,and looks in the mirror every couple of hours just to make sure she has not messed up her lipstick.

Bruce Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 Am I the only one that finds the term "metrosexual" a little disturbing. :kidding: No you are not alone. Years ago we had other terms. Pick a team and stay with it. I do not care which team, but make a decision!

Papa Carl Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 The Maple Leafs! Oh I am showing my age! Can't help it, I followed them every "Hockey Night in Canada", back in the days when Hockey was only on TV one night a week, (Saturday), and crime went down in Canada, because most people were at home following their team! I just can't get it out of my blood! Papa Carl

At the moment they are also carrying all the playoff games. http://www.cbc.ca/player/Sports/Live+Streaming/ID/2277790001/ You can also catch the feed here - as well as for other games and sports. I tend to watch the Jays on here. I do admit it is a pain sometimes closing all the advertising but once you get through it all, go to full screen and it won't interfere with watching. http://firstrow.org/
