My wife has never used "kuan" (some even use "ano", which means what), but she goes around looking for "things". As in..."where did I put that thing". "Kuan" for Cebuanos is the "Ano" for the Tagalog - but both could refer to any thing or any word that you is just at the tip of your tongue, be it a noun, an adjective or a verb, etc. - anything that you can think of...
