Forum Support Old55 Posted August 9, 2013 Forum Support Posted August 9, 2013 The other day I'm driving my lovely wife to the local QFC grocery store on the way she says we need instead go to Safeway in Mordor. Confused I ask "so what road do we take to Middle Earth"? :89: Well it turns out she said Safeway has more there. One would think after all these years I could understand simple instructions. :hystery: Anyone care to share your latest curious pronunciation interactions?

Americano Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I have heard several Filipinos say bock instead of back. Come bock tomorrow. In the USA we pronounce European eu/ro/pe/an. My wife says eu/rope/an.

Not relevant for the topic, but relevant to that post and funny :mocking: Some Swedish kids missunderstand why it's named "thermometer" (termo-meter in Swedish) because in Swedish the word for rectum sounds almost the same (=tarmo-meter = rectum-meter) :hystery:
