bear with me, if i am off topic,

, living here is a "privledge" not a "right",,

we are, different by our looks.background and  supposedly our $$

(at least some of us always feel we are being scrutinized of our actions)

things that upset us here . we must not allow it to "BITE "us in the rear(bu tt )

// follow me so far..

.point I am trying to make is,

 1. We need to have a "FRIEND" in a high place to "help " when in a "misunderstanding"

2.BE CURRENT IN OUR VISA/BI REQUIREMENTS

3. have a "good"relationship w/our wife/partner(as this portrays our character)and your neighbors.

4. if you drive. DONT let these XXXXX upset/angry or get the best of you,

5, CONSIDER. A DASH CAMERA to protect yourself,

i mention this ,as i have read in russia now the drivers do this to PROTECT themselves from FALSE CLAIMS.. (why cant that be done here,) the police in some countries do this, to protect themselves,

a saying i recall. an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, .

being PROACTIVE can or at least reduce my/your chances of having problems,

By all means the Australian fellow is RIGHT!!!

I have met these kind of situations over and over again, these convoys with politicians or rich people inside THEY DO NOT GIVE A DAMN FOR ANYONE OR ANYTHING, they are above law, they think they are Gods or something similar.

But as we all know this is the banana republic when it comes to justice is such cases...So I do say nothing, do nothing cause all I can get for my self is troubles.

I just wait though to find my chance and meet one or any of them (not the average Filipino, the powerful and rich ones) in my own country, I will pay them back all the attitudes and humiliations they practice to us here!!!!

I'm glad I am planning to live where these oligarchs wouldn't be caught dead, unless they had a strange desire to do a mud inspection of the back of beyond. I have taken Davao off my list of places to visit.

I agree. Better look for a baranggay in the wilderness where the baranggay boss is friendly. If it switch, we have at least much biger chance to find someone more powerful than him  :)

(My Swedish friend, who has had a SMALL mango farm in a bit wilderness baranggay for over 20 years, get invitations to just friend meetings from BOTH the rich and the poor there. And no hostile situations either, living there WITHOUT having any body guard - except his wife  :mocking:     Some problem with Pinoys asking for economical assistance, but he systematicly say "Sorry, I don't have that much, but here you have so you can afford travel to seach for it" and give them houndred pesos or so. He live cheap there, which make it easier for them to believe it's true. It will be some harder for me, because I aim at having a car and a big stone house, so I get space enough both for office and my legs  :mocking:    so even by having uggly car and house, I will look rich after Pinoy messure anyway   but I hope I can reduce that problem by telling "everyone" I have borrowed to it  :)  or it belong to investors, which will be partly true at least if I will start one of the more costly business ideas, but not if I start one, which cost only permit fees, equipment I have allready and some of my time  :)    I believe that cheap one is a good business idea in the NOW situation, because RP is much short of such, but the problem is, when many Pinoys can afford to copy it, to many Pinoys will copy it  :boohoo:  :)

A German here has a concrete house (hollow blocks) but he has it disguised as a nippa hut on the outside. Us locals know but many do not. You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all the people all the time.

Haha. That's an interesting idea. But hard to disguise 200 sqm indoor at one floor  plus a big veranda (to get space for business and so I can do some extra hobbies indoors during bad weather season) as a nipa hut. But perhaps if having the short side towards the public road, if can manage to disguise it as the longer side of a nipa hut  :)

But I believe it's a biger chance if make it uggly not painting it (on outside at the arriving side) and perhaps make it look some unfinnished  as if owner run out of money when building it, which perhaps will be true too  :mocking:
