Medic Mike Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 A passenger vessel of 2Go Travel figured in a minor accident as it was pulling out from the port of Cebu en route to Cagayan de Oro Friday morning. Huge waves pushed the MV Pope John Paul II to the freighter MV RKK 2 that was docked at Pier 1, Cebu City, 9:45 a.m. Philippine Coast Guard – Cebu station chief Commander Weniel Azcuna said the passengers of MV Pope John Paul II were safe and the ship was still given a clearance to sail at 10:20 a.m. However the collision left a dent on the railings of MV RKK 2's starboard or right side. Lito Salvio of 2Go Travel said they are now communicating with the owner of the cargo vessel as they commissioned a tug boat to move the freighter to another port to avoid congestion. Azcuna asked both shipping companies to submit a marine protest today, October 11.
