Tukaram (Tim) Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 We just spent a week in Antique. It was noticeably cooler being near the mountains... but a 3 hour bus ride to a grocery store? No thanks!
Lou49 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I've been to Baguio, Banaue, and Sagada at different times of the year. It always seems to be about 20 C or 70 F in those places. Clean, green and cool. I've been to Davao which is a very nice city but I definitely would not consider it a cool place. I found it to be similar in temperature to Cebu City. Your mileage may vary......
JJReyes Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 The large amount of metal roofing and concrete in the cities plus the heat and pollution from motor vehicles increases city temperature by one or two degrees. Japan's solution is rooftop gardening or just grass using a very light composite material similar to soil. They also increased the number of trees and shrubs at street level. In the Philippines, once you are in the countryside surrounded by greenery, you feel cooler.
