jon1 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I agree, mine won't be ready until Monday. Hopefully it will still linger in the neighborhood... :)

At BPI we usually get somewhere in the range of 5-20 centavos less than this rate.
Tukaram (Tim) Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I just checked BPI online and they list 44.23! But we have never gotten the online rate at the branch...

Yes, BPI gives you a better rate when you do exchange USD for pesos online instead of at the bank.
OnMyWay Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 I just checked BPI online and they list 44.23! But we have never gotten the online rate at the branch... I wish it was that high! :) You need to be logged in on a business day between 0930 and 3:30 to get the correct online rate. They don't show online rates during other times. You are looking at the ballpark rate published weekly for those who are not logged in, and you are looking at the sell rate, not the buy rate.

JJReyes Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 The Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas may not wait for the Christmas arrival of OFWs. They might start intervening this coming week. The United States Dollar is also appreciating. Welcome news for me since I need to purchase Japanese Yen and Canadian Dollars.for 2014.
Popular Post earthdome Posted December 9, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 9, 2013 My latest check deposit finally became available in my BPI USD account so I exchanged it online for pesos. The app on my smartphone says the rate is 44.11 and I was able to get 43.86 from BPI exchanging online. This is the best fx rate I have had in the year I have been in the Philippines. I arrived in the Philippines to start my retirement one year ago today, Dec 9, 2012. To this point I am still very happy with my decision and have been enjoying my retirement here.
