Malcolm Graham Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Metro bank rules are Passbook account 10000php with copies of passport and ACR card. ATM account 2000php with the same copies. If you are going to transfer a pension then no deposit and just passport but also a letter from British embassy that you are a pension holder

dankje Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 I was planning on going to another bank when i happened to pass by a metro bank. I thought i'd give it a go and it was very easy to open an account. However, i could only open a savings account. I'll worry about the ACR in about 6 weeks or so. Thanks for all of your input.
dankje Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 Just to continue this topic a little. I'm still on a tourist visa and there is nothing stopping me from setting up a business with it. However, the ACR is a diferent cookie. My problem is that I work in different countries so i travel a lot. I can hardly stay 20 days in the same country, let alone 59 days. I went to immigration last Friday to explain my problem. They didn't really have any solution other than "stay here 59 days". Crazy if you ask me. It's just impossible! I was pretty $%%*#%^ so i forgot the ask them about the innerworkings of the ACR in combination with a work permit. My company is almost set up and because I'm planning on hiring more then 10 natives, I am eligeble for a work permit. I'll keep you posted because I can imagine that other people might have the same problems in the future.
