Call me bubba Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 read a news report last night of a retired american who seems to have lost it all after his gf broke up w/him. Now instead of going home. he will be a guest of the QC jail system for a while. (didnt help that he was drunk :cheersty: and held a cashier hostage either) He should be flying home to Oregon on Tuesday (Jan. 14), but a retired US serviceman is instead spending time in jail after holding hostage the cashier of a Quezon City apartelle in a desperate bid to get his girlfriend to talk to him again after their split. Quezon City police took nearly three hours to persuade Robert Mark Stasastis, 57, formerly of the US Navy to set free the woman employee of the Paradis Apartelle on T. Morato Avenue. He was checked in the apartelle, and was reported to have been drinking heavily after his Filipina girlfriend broke up with him. Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Richard Albano said a check of the suspect’s documents showed that he is set to leave for the US on January 14. The police said he used a kitchen knife and threatened to kill the apartelle’s unnamed cashier if his girlfriend will not come over to talk to him. The police eventually pacified the suspect and persuaded him to surrender. http://www.interaksyon.com/article/78533/ex-us-navy-man-despondent-over-split-with-pinay-gf-nabbed-for-hostage-taking-in-qc Not being in our home country presents many challenges.that even a sane person would have problems in dealing with.Yet 1 thing i have learned over the years 1,NEVER disrespect a filipina in public even when she was in the wrong. 2. don't get DRUNK & ANGRY & then complain how "terrible things are here"
Mike S Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Just another great example of how a foreigner screws it up for the rest of us ..... yea sure he will have to pay the price for his stupidity ..... but how many more of us will pay a price for this same stupidity ..... more forms to fill out .... more hoops to jump through .... but then this was a foreigner and had it been a Filipino we would never have heard about it .... it just ain't news here .... JMHO :cheersty:
Gerald Glatt Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Mike is right, this guy ruined it for the next time we want to take a hotel manager hostage. Darn foreigners, I mean just because his ex won't speak (how many think this is a bad thing) the man has a reasonable response by pulling a knife on a stranger. Sigh no one understands, and did you ever see so many Filipinos getting upset over such a small misunderstanding. Seriously, I hope he gets out in time to get SS. \
