TheMason Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Wow, and all this time I thought it was the church discouraging condom use that contributed to the spread of AIDS. The Church must be mighty relieved to be off the hook. Turns out, it's the foregn devil spreading AIDS after all.I wonder if the people in the article think there should be AIDS testing before getting involved with a Pinoy. tom_shor Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 WOW, some advice from the other side.TWO cause-oriented organizations here on Sunday advised women in the city to be cautious about starting relationships with men from other countries via the Internet, saying not all of them can turn out to be knights in shining armor.Leah Tarhata Mehila, executive director of women's rights advocacy group Shaping Heroines Everyday (SHE), said the Internet has contributed to the increasing number of interracial relationships in the country. She said her group noted an increased number of cases of women in northern Mindanao and Caraga regions who are ''fishing'' online for potential husbands. There is nothing wrong with this, said Mehila, but Filipinos need to be cautious and vice versa.''Your chatmate may not turn out to be your 'dream man'. You must not believe in what he says on the Net. You must know him more and find out about his traits and character,'' she said.Mehila said are many cases of online relationships not ending up in marriage.''They may be here for a three-day vacation in a private resort with their chatmates, and we don't know what happens there. What if the guy has Aids?'' she asked.During the 27th International Aids Candlelight Memorial activity here last Sunday, Pit Pugahan of the group Alagad said it would be wise for foreigners and their Filipino girlfriends who met online to first submit to HIV anti-body tests which only cost about P300 here.Alagad said it has documented five Aids cases in Cagayan de Oro.Overall seems like sound advice not just foreign bashing. She kind of does imply that AIDS comes from foreigners but some of it really does. Lets face it guys internet scams run both ways.

Actualy HIV and STD tests aren't a bad idea for anyone getting involved in an intimate relationship. Not just in the Philippines but everywhere. So you don't have to say "Gee Doc she seemed like such a nice girl" Women substitute he and guy in the previous sentance.
