227 Philippines cops sacked

 

MANILA A total of 227 ‘non-performing’ policemen assigned to Metro Manila have been dismissed or suspended as part of the determined efforts to weed out scalawags from the 125,000-strong Philippine National Police (PNP).

 

Director Carmelo Valmoria, the chief of the Metro Manila police regional command, said most of those penalised were found to have abandoned their assignments in shopping malls, commercial centres and transport terminals last December.

 

Valmoria added that aside from their dismissal, he ordered the filing of administrative and criminal cases against the erring policemen.

 

Those suspended, Valmoria said, were reassigned to his command’s headquarters where they would undergo retraining before they would be given new assignments.

Bet'ch they will find out that these cops never really existed except on paper and someone high up is collecting their pay checks .... JMHO ...... not a strange occurrence as it is prevalent in the US also .... :thumbsup:
