Popular Post beegee Posted February 2, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 2, 2014 I said on another post that I’d outline my SRRV (PRA) visa process experience, so here goes. I guess most of you have seen the PRA website so I won’t bore you with all of the details but the basics are : I went for the SRRV CLassic, expenses were, US$10,000 (can be converted to investments), $1400 (in cash)application fee and ID Card $360. The process itself was quite straightforward, Police Clearance, Medical and proof of pension were all done in Singapore where I live. The application itself was online and once approved I had to go to Manila for two weeks for the processing of the documentation (they keep your passport for the duration). On the first day I handed in the original documents, once checked that was it until I turned up on the last day where there were a few documents to sign and that was it, all done, very efficient each visit less than 30 minutes. Visa itself says indefinite and the ID card has to be renewed annually at $360. Hope the information is helpful.
earthdome Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Recently I spoke to someone who just completed the SRRV for former US military who are retired. He confirmed that he was able to obtain one having served only 8 years in the US military, the $1500 USD deposit and the $10 annual renewal fee. I think he had to pay the same application fee of $1400 USD. He worked with a representative from the PRA here in Baguio to obtain the SRRV and was the first test case. The whole thing only took a few months. I will be contacting this PRA representative to start the process.
