Dave Hounddriver Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 What's the best alternative web browser: don't stick with Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer I am getting fed up with the main 3 web browsers. I have used each of them and they all had their day but now I find that they hog bandwidth and processor function with no added benefit. I also find them to be too commercialized. The link at the beginning of this post tests 6 'alternative' browsers but they are all just names to me. Anyone familiar with any of them? Avant Force Avan Browser 2013 Comodo IceDragon 20.0 Flashpeak Slimboat 1.1.29 Lunascape 6.8.3 Maxthon Cloud 4.05 Torch Media Torch Browser 23.
earthdome Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 One way to reduce bandwidth and CPU usage is to install javascript, flash and ad blocker extensions in your browser of choice. Then you can enable one or more of those 'features' on individual websites as needed.

Forum Support Mike J Posted April 8, 2014 Forum Support Posted April 8, 2014 I must have fat fingers. I tested this one and it should work. "http://webdesignledger.com/tools/12-alternative-web-browsers-you-should-try" Very odd. When I posted the message, the line was changed. Doing an edit now and the correct link is showing. Beyond weird, when I save the change, it goes back to the incorrect line. okay, got it that time. Cut and paste into your browser, then delete the quote marks on each end. :999:

Still works exactly the same but you wont see all of the link in the post so no need to try to fix something that is not broken. The only reason the whole link is showing in the quote above is because its wrapped in " " but its wasn't necessary. :cheersty: Another way to link is to use the link button icon right under the size button up the top of the editor, you would type a word like "click here", highlight the "click here" words and then click on the link icon and paste the link in the box, that will make the words "click here" an active link.
