Holy Week Closures 2014

its now approaching "HOLY WEEK" and for those who live here knows what it means,,, reduced hours or the near complete shut down of the economy

 

 althou I cant fully confirm the BI will be closed 17 thurs and 18 friday.

 

so those who have certain business or government transactions beware.

1st article is about BPI and BDO closures from 17 Thursday to 20 Sunday.

 

BDO Unibank Inc. said its branches will be closed from April 17, Thursday to April 20, Sunday in observance of the Holy Week.

“In observance of the Holy Week, please be advised that all BDO branches will be open to serve the clients until Wednesday (April 16)

and will be closed Maundy Thursday (April 17) to Easter Sunday (April 20),”

the bank said in a statement.

 

BDO said its ATMs and online banking channels will operational for withdrawal transactions and other banking services.

Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) branches and kiosks will also be closed from April 17 to 20.

“In observance of the Holy Week, branches and kiosks will be closed from April 17 to 20, 2014.

 

Cut-off time to pay bills due April 17-20, 2014 using our e-channels is 10PM of April 16, 2014,” the bank said.

Payments made beyond the cut-off time will be considered a transaction of the next banking day on April 21, Monday.

Thank for the heads-up, Pittman.  This will be my first Holy Week in-country, so I am truly curious how far they "roll up the sidewalks" later this week?  How about malls, restos, other retail and even the small neighborhood stores?  Maybe a beer/food run is in order tomorrow...

here is my area of laguna, SM & ROBINSON malls will be closed on thursday and friday

and REOPEN on saturday,

ATMS already a line forming when i was out earlier . in the past some  ATM's may run out of money

NO worry as there are others near by.

as posted earlier BDO is closed thurs-Sun,which means the other major banks will follow suit,

 GROCERY stores.. humm.  of what I have read FRIDAY(aka good friday) SM/savemore will be closed

as of what i saw the other smaller non chain, it just depends.

 

Overall advice just be prepared w/a little extra of your major comfort items. its only a day or 2 of a slight inconvenience

should you be in Metro manila/ncr, its been reported that MAJOR road work/repair will be undertaken on EDSA

good thing about this , in the past EDSA has had very little traffic on this "holiday week-end"
