Oh I thought they saw fat as nice, being a status symbol, but perhaps that goes only for us old men  :mocking:

No your to fat
I GUESS it was of BEAUTY reason,

BUT some western employers do similar for MUCH fat people, because of the HEALTH reason. (As I suppouse all know much fat = much biger risk for health problems, and employers lose money when staff is ill. Similar for smokers. Plus many smokers take extra smoke breaks  :)     A bit hard to find not smoking males in Phils, so I suppouse they can't be very poor, when they afford to smoke...  :)

Sorry for your sis-in-law. But isn't it great living in a country where an employer can hire who he wants, when he wants and not have to be worried about being sued by every special interest group for not following the rule de jure.

Yes, can be for old men,

BUT many Filipins seem to find fat being good in some other situations. =As a sign of can AFFORD to get fat.    Two very fat kids wonn beauty contests at Mindanao.

Several - NOT fat, but some of them are chubby - Filipinas have told me they have eating as HOBBY

Our cousin worked for Gaisano for almost 6 months... she had to sign an agreement to quit before 6 months so they don't have to give her all the benefits.  And now that she is 32 she is too old to get a job as a store clerk.  Young & cute - and then only short term jobs.  How are they supposed to get ahead in life?  Selling street corner bbq is her only job now.

The above mentioned sign would not be posted at a Hooters resteraunt in the US but it amounts to the same thing.
