Masseuse Accuses Bogo Cop Of Sexual Assault

A MEMBER of Bogo City Police Station has been accused of sexually assaulting a female massage therapist.

A complaint of acts of lasciviousness was filed last Thursday before the Bogo City Prosecutor’s Office against PO1 Jeffrey Satera, 34.

Danica (not her real name), 23, accused the policeman of hugging her and brushing against her during a massage session on May 18 inside Satera’s house in Barangay Polambato.

Chief Insp. Germano Mallari, Bogo City Police Station chief, told Sun.Star Cebu that Satera asked Danica, his neighbor, to give him a massage.

Danica worked in a company in Cebu City that offered home massage services.

During the massage at 9 a.m., Satera allegedly asked Danica if she gives “extra service,” alluding to sex, and how much she would charge for it. The therapist told the policeman that she does not offer such services.

While Danica was massaging Satera's right palm, the policeman allegedly grabbed and hugged her. He then forced her to the floor where he allegedly lay on top of her and humped her.

Danica said she pushed the policeman away and ran out of the house, shouting for help. She went to see the barangay captain, who referred her to the police.

Mallari said Danica did not want to press charges against Satera provided that the police is assigned somewhere.

Satera was assigned in beat patrol at the Polambato wharf, which is near Danica's residence.

Mallari ordered Satera to stay at the Bogo City Police Station and work as radio operator.

Mallari said that Danica told him that Satera courted her in the past but she rejected him.

When interviewed by Mallari, Satera denied making advances on Danica. He also denied
courting the therapist.

Satera told his police chief that he accidentally touched Danica’s back and this may have been interpreted by the therapist.

Sun.Star Cebu called Satera to get his comment but the policeman declined. “Wala pa ko kadawat sa complaint. Wala pako kahibaw unsa iyang gipangalegar sa akoa (I still don’t have a copy of the complaint so I don’t know what she has accused me of),” he said in a phone interview yesterday.

The case will be forwarded to Cebu Provincial Police Office's Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Branch for an administrative investigation.
