Dave Hounddriver Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I don't trust any doctors and that's why I believe everyone should always be studying and become their own doctor. You can know more about your body than another person does. This is one area where you and I can reach over 90% agreement. However there are still a few doctors I have learned trust. Unfortunately its not an automatic trust and about the time I start to trust a doctor I tend to move and then I need to do it all over again.

JJReyes Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) Did any of the doctors explain the health risk of having a Colonoscopy? Trying to force the instrument to make the sharp turns in your colon can cause rips and tears in the delicate colon wall. I'm sure they didn't mention the health risk because all they can see is dollar signs from the rich foreigner. I believe that in the United States a doctor has to be board certified to do a Colonoscopy. It's a specialty. My Kaiser Permanente doctor did six to eight per day. Don't know about the Philippines. All medical procedures assume risks. I have to read several pages about what could go wrong as part of the consent form and then sign my life away. Among the estimated 156,000 deaths in the United States from colon cancer, the majority are males. The reason is they grim and bear the pain until it is too late. They wait until the cancer is Stage 3 or 4 before seeing a doctor. Why? Because it is embarrassing. Colonoscopy is a medical procedure. Better than dying prematurely. It is not a preventable disease, but if detected early adds years to your life. I am an example. I could have died 14 years ago except the doctors were closely monitoring me based on family history. Jack Peterson Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 What happened? How come he was no longer interested in girls at age 89? Maybe his wife found out, when he invited some, to his 89th B/day bash.
