Tukaram (Tim) Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 A guy asked me a question through my blog and I have no idea what he is talking about. It seems the last time he was here he stayed in Olongopo, He got his 21 day stamp at the airport but when he went to Olongopo BI office they said they could not do his first extension. Only Manila can authorize it. He went to Manila, and got it, and did his other extensions in Olongopo. What?! I have done all of my extensions in Iloilo, and from reading numerous web sites and blogs have never heard anyone say they got sent to Manila for their first extension. Has anyone heard of this? I wonder what else they could have been trying to tell him and he misunderstood? I told him I had no idea what he was talking about... anybody got any ideas?

OnMyWay Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I got my first extension in Sta. Rosa, not Olongapo, so I can't make a specific comment. It does not sound right. It is probably a misunderstanding or perhaps the guy has a personal situation with his passport / status that can't be resolved in Olongapo.
Jack Peterson Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 or perhaps the guy has a personal situation with his passport He may have applied to early, normally, you can only apply in the 14 days prior, to expiry of the 59 days, then yes, he may well, have had to go to manila. jon1 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I have always done all of my extensions at the Olongapo BI without issue. I have done my first extension as early as 7 days after my arrival without issue. The employees there have always treated me professionally and never any hassle about anything. I am always in and out in under 20 minutes.
