MikeB Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Back to topic, ditto on post #7. The BB thing is a privilege, a courtesy, not a right. When he gets to the window it's going to be a simple yes or no, they're not going to spend time arguing about statutes when they have planeloads of passengers to process. Tell him to have the docs, ask politely and speak the local dialect. Good luck.
fred Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) First of all, just the fact that the child has a Filipino mother entitles him to a Balikbayan privilege for a one year visa free stay if his/her Mum accompanies him/her.. We traveled here with our kids numerous times like this.. A little after my Mrs got her Brit passport she went to the Phil embassy in London and reacquired her Filipino nationality and our two kids were included.. They are all dual nationals with two passports because of it.. No reason I can think of why this woman cant do the same!! fred Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 Just to add quickly.. Get her to reacquire her Phil Citizenship before the child turns 18...Otherwise (from memory) its a different procedude.. Regardless of all that though,as long as the mother can supply a birth cert at the airport proving she is the mother of J,the child will get a BB stamp guaranteed.
