i am bob Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I can see the logical side of keeping track of tourists. BOB, if the BOI were to there Job Properly, they would know exactly where we are, bearing in mind that we report every 2 months for extensions and now, have to have 2 (two) character references, with Addresses and Phone Numbers, They can check if needed but like most things here, they have your money and the paperwork, gets stuffed in Boxes somewhere. Usually never, to be seen again. Like Americano, I would not be joining anything like this.Too much information that, Just, might, get into the wrong hands. Only recently I wrote somewhere else that some years ago(and that is within the last 5) I joined one of these in Spain( I was over here a lot and I felt it safer to do this) BUT it turned out, that the Brit [ashamed to say this] who was the Coordinator, was responsible for Break ins, car theft, and many other petty Crimes. Basically, passing on Information to some seedy people. So now, I would not give it any more thought. JP :morning1: Morning All. Now Jack, i said I could agree with the logic - not the actual procedure. All our countries of former citizenship do the same - register a person when they come in (someone that is staying longer than the basic stay) and they are suppose to update the government when they move to a different place of residence. As for how it could be used against ExPats staying in the Philippines, I most whole-heartedly agree that things could go south very quickly! :tiphat:
