Obviously Jon, you've done your own amphibious recon without any binoculars.  You were already up close and personal......he, he.  Would cold beer do the trick also?

Cold beer and/or body shots are a suitable substitute back in the day.

I don't entertain like that anymore, I have finally settled down and not the manyak I was when younger :)

As one poster said, I believe its superstition too. My wife has told me at least 40 superstitions that she has heard since she was born and grew up in the Philippines. Some are even more ridiculous than this one. Maybe I should write a book.

From another topic several members suggested their wife and other Filipinos fear rain water getting on them. My wife is a good example and she has a real problem now living in NW Washington State!

No one wants to get their clothing soaking wet (Jake, dont start!) but a little rain never hurts. What the heck is the big deal?

Perhaps concerning water coming from ABOVE

but   e g

/my ex gf went through around 2-3 dm deep flood water just to chat with me back when Manila was flooded two (?) times ago

/and an other Filipina in Surigao sur said, when I asked if they had problem with flood (rain season)

- No it's only up to knee   haha       :hystery:

But these are farmers daughters. I guess city Filipins find same problem much harder.

My wife's Father told her that rain falls a long way before hitting the head.

He swears that the rain gets into the brain and cause anything from a headache to insanity and even death.

I told her to remember that when I hand her a helmet before she enters the shower.

My lady says that she will get sick if the rain falls on her.  They are too used to the heat and sun, so getting wet and especially to let it dry on your skin is bad.

I go with the pollution perspective and believe it best to cover up.

Right or wrong I go with the umbrella now for whatever the reason.  :1927_:

I'm beginning to see your modus operandi in gathering all the ladies like a pied piper.  You're walking

around with a big typhoon proof umbrella as you collect the ladies up close and personal.....he, he.

Please do not claim your innocence here -- you revealed your true self in your avatar and I like that!

Have a good one Mr Z........
