Jollygoodfellow Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 what next  British woman, 65, 'threw spear at officials' as she was arrested for allegedly running Philippines 'House of Horrors' where children as young as six months suffered abuse A British woman is being held behind bars in the Philippines accused of running a ‘House of Horrors’ in which young children were allegedly held prisoner and sexually abused. Police and child care workers named the woman as 65-year-old Lillian May Thomson, who was found with an expired U.S. passport, and said she was charged with child abuse involving at least five young children. One of the youngsters was found tied to a chair in a locked room in a house near Subic Bay, 75 miles north west of Manila, where the US once had a huge naval base. Another child was said to be a six-month-old boy who was found severely malnourished, while three girls, all aged seven, were alleged to have been sexually abused. The shocking case is being described by social workers as one of the worst recorded instances of child abuse they have seen. Father Shay Cullen, an Irish priest who runs the Preda Foundation, a shelter for abused children in nearby Olongapo City, said Thomson is facing serious charges of illegal detention and direct assault on government officials. She was also expected to be charged with child trafficking. Father Cullen claimed that when child care workers and police raided Thomson’s house she picked up a spear and threw it at them. According to the Manila-based Inquirer newspaper, police found the children in Thomson’s home after a tip off. Father Cullen said he and social workers from Preda had been told of possible maltreatment and sexual abuse of children after foreigners were seen coming and going to Thomson’s house. ‘One of the children, aged just six months, was found severely malnourished,’ Father Cullen told the Inquirer newspaper by phone. Three girls, all aged seven, and a five year old boy were among those rescued. One of the girls was tied to a chair with plastic handcuffs when police raided the property. Police said the children are now in a safe house, but medical examinations have allegedly revealed that the three girls had been sexually abused. ‘Thomson resisted arrest and became agitated, angry and used invectives against the arresting officers,’ said Father Cullen. Father Cullen told the Daily Mail last night: ‘We believe this was nothing short of being a brothel in which those forced to serve foreign adults were children.’ He said investigations were still continuing because the work of finding out from the children what had happened to them had to be carried out with gentleness due to their young ages. ‘But we have been able to establish from the girls that they and a young boy were filmed naked for a camera, so we suspect this was for use on the internet for the pleasure of paedophiles,’ said Father Cullen, who has been in the Philippines for 45 years. ‘As each hour goes by that we talk to the children, the worse the details that they are able to tell us become. ‘We have learned, for example, that the young girls were taken to parties in Barretto, a red light district nearby, by this woman, although we have yet to find out from them what happened at those parties. ‘I have to say I suspect the worse. This is an hour by hour investigation and we continue to be shocked by what we are hearing. ‘The house was in a filthy dilapidated state and it must have been hell for those young children to be kept there, wondering who was going to come in the door next.’ Father Cullen said Thomson had today been charged with Serious Illegal Detention of five children aged from six months to seven years. She has also been charged with assaulting government officials with a spear. Thompson has two passports, said father Cullen - a British passport showing that she is from Dunfermline, Scotland, and an expired US passport. When child protection officers arrived at the house, Thomson allegedly refused to let them in but then she started swearing at them before throwing a spear which grazed the arm of one of the social workers, Rosemarie Hebron. Father Cullen told the Mail that social workers from his Preda Foundation, of which he is the President, run an official children’s home in the area - ‘a beautiful place by a river and surrounded by hills’ - and it was they who learned of the alleged horrors being perpetrated in the run-down house nearby. ‘Even if there were no allegations of sexual abuse of the children, Thomson is in the wrong because you cannot keep children without an official licence.' Official medical certificates alleging that the girls had been sexually abused have been prepared and will be presented when Thomson appears at the Olongapo City Regional Trial Court, said Father Cullen. Barrio Barretto, the red light district of Subic Bay that the children said they were taken to, is notorious for its sex tourism. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2683179/British-woman-65-threw-spear-officials-arrested-allegedly-running-Philippines-House-Horrors-children-young-six-months-suffered-abuse.html

Call me bubba Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 The male foreigners frequenting that house of horrors should also be hung by their left nut. And then hand them over to the local NPA's........ Sickening story indeed....... YES JAKE this is TRULY SICKENING.. the only thing good if you can say good about this story, THAT NO MAN was arrested or was found in the house at the time of arrest. why i say that? every time a "sex related"arrest occurs and it involves a foreigner. IT AFFECTS the (us)men who live here.
Jake Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) The male foreigners frequenting that house of horrors should also be hung by their left nut. And then hand them over to the local NPA's........ Hey guys, It may not be in this case but my gut feeling is the proprietor of this illicit establishment (and everyone knows about it) may have gotten an advanced warning and told those foreigners to stay away. But she did not panic because she thought that she has one or more local PNP's on her payroll. But I think she threw a tantrum because her local PNP could not protect her from outsiders, like Father Cullen with the local media covering the raid. Many protectors-financiers wear the uniform of a policeman. They start out as protecting a certain group of jeepney drivers or beggars that are part of a corner sindicado (syndicate) within his patrol area. As they go up in rank, you can see many retired generals or PNP superintendents living lavish lifestyles within their culture of impunity. They are called the untouchables. Perhaps that woman arrested felt that sense of arrogance too......until she got too greedy. If this is all true as insinuated, every time I see some creepy looking expat, I'm going to think, is he one of them?
Popular Post jon1 Posted July 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted July 9, 2014 I found out the other side of this story. This woman has been in the PI for YEARS. She is not what she has been charged with. She has been taking in the unwanted and sickly Aeta children and raising them. Her only real crime is that she may or may not have a license. This arrest was a result of a feud between her and the Irish Catholic priest running PREDA http://www.preda.org/en/ who just happens to also be the person who pursued her arrest. The "foreigners seen visiting her home" are people that have been making donations to assist in the care of these children. The child that was tied to a chair has mental issues and needs 100% supervision. If left to her own devices is a danger to herself and others. This lady is a hard woman and her friends have been visiting her while she is in custody providing food and support. She is well respected within the Aeta community. I am not trying to get into the middle of this but just putting out some info from the other side. I doubt that when the smoke clears that there will be any type of reporting to retract this story.

I was waiting to see if there was more to this. I couldn't understand why she would have the kids and that maybe the girls were abused before she got them. I also read about the priest and he has been nominated for 2 Nobel peace prizes but he is very controversial. He was one of the leaders who led a grass roots effort to get the US base removed in Subic, despite the fact that a majority of Filipinos actually wanted to keep it. He also is against any American military visiting Subic.
jon1 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I don't understand why the PREDA social workers are involved in the questioning. To me I see that as a conflict of interest and view their info as "tainted".
Popular Post SubicSteve Posted July 9, 2014 Popular Post Posted July 9, 2014 As Jon said, the story is TOTAL BULLsh&t. Sherry takes in unwanted babies and does wonderful with the Aeta community. I believe the little 6 month old boy in question is Peter. I held him in my arms when he was a week old. Her house is not fancy as she does not spend money on aircon and the like. I won't mention who the real criminal in this story is but he should be removed from the Philippines. This is a power play, nothing more.
i am bob Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Sounds like a lot of us got off on the wrong foot by reading and believing the newspapers... I hope we all learned a lesson in getting both sides of the story before deciding on what's true or not... I know I have! I hope the truth comes out about this woman and her accuser - and it is spread across not only the Philippines but the entire world! And bodily she will be able to go on with her work with the children!
