Mr Lee Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 (edited) When addressing an older man, it is a sign of respect to call him Noy or Manoy, Noy is short for Manoy when addressing someone older than you. Such as when you get into a taxi etc. If the man is younger than you, you would then call them dong. Calling a younger man Noy might be a little upsetting for them if they think you are the older one. An older woman would be Nang short for Manang and a younger woman would be called Day (pronounced die) short for IndayAnyone else have any good tips along the same lines?? Mik Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Don't put your hands on your hips (arms akimbo). It makes you appear angry or offended (or impatient and defiant).
