Malcolm Graham Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Now this is interesting as it happened just where I described a photo as Living room bathroom kitchen. The raid started at around 6 am and finished after about 30 minutes. The police were incredibly efficient. The surrounding area was sealed off first then a small team moved in and secured around the house. As I am living in a different part of the same structure it got a bit up close and personal. A 50 sq metre lot is not big when bullets are flying. No wild firing by the police though there was by two in the house. About 30 rounds were fired. Ever since the shooting on Aug 12 the police have been after him and nearly caught him twice but missed him by just minutes. http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/metro-manila/08/27/14/man-resists-arrest-killed-shootout-cops MANILA -- A man was killed in a shootout with police in Interior Tramo Street, Pasay City on Wednesday morning. Joint elements of Pasay City Police Station Intelligence Branch, Special Reaction Unit, and Pasay Police Community Precinct 3 had launched a police operation against Jeric de Asis for a homicide case and pending warrant of arrest for illegal possession of firearms. De Asis resisted and opened fire at police operatives during the service of the search warrant, which resulted to his death. De Asis was a suspect in the killing of Jimmy Fiel, 59, on August 12. According to reports, De Asis, armed with a firearm, took a shot at Norwel Ortega while riding his motorcycle. De Asis missed Ortega, but a bullet fatally hit Fiel. Four others were also arrested for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions. Those arrested were identified as Reynaldo De Asis, Mark Louie Mendoza, Susana De Asis, and Gieroll Gaitos. Confiscated during the operation were two caliber .45 guns, a caliber .38 revolver, a caliber .22 pistol, assorted ammunitions, and a motorcycle plate number.

northtoalaska Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 "were two caliber .45 guns" I notice lots of shooting stories with 45's. That's a seldom used, these days, caliber in the States. Interesting that its still very popular there. Must be a lot of military "surplus" from Clark days and leftovers from WW2.

Their craftsmanship is unbelievable! The quarenta cinco (.45) is still the gun of choice, considered an ultimate status symbol in semi-auto handguns.
