Onward Ticket Question

I am returning to the UK for a few weeks in October, when I return I will be buying a single flight and an onward ticket. My question is, does the onward ticket have to be dated within the first 30 days of arrival? If not, how far into the future can one be booked for?

I look forward to your expertise regarding this. Many thanks!

No is the easy answer, I have always done mine for the longest time allowable by the Airline which seems to be 364 days

immigration will know you are a long term tourist from your Extension stamps so you should have no problems there.

Now I have said this I hope and trust all will be well for you.

JGF previously has posted a BI letter that states your onward ticket does not have to be within 30 days.  I recently searched for it because I wanted to print it, but I could not find it.

JGF, can we bother you to post it again or guide us to the previous one?

I have now booked a flight, online, with AirAsia, as a forwarding ticket. I have received an email confirmation regarding this, however, I have not received an electronic ticket. Will this confirmation, printed out, be sufficient for me to gain access to my single UK to Davao flight, via Singapore Air, from Heathrow?

Yeah, I did the same thing. Print everything out, flight number etc and you will be good.

I did mine through AirAsia as well.

The Email confirmation is your electronic ticket.

That's a good link, JGF.

I have printed it off to keep with my other guidence on the subject. You can never have too much paper in your arsenal when challenged at check-in.
