Methersgate Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) | think the problem is not so much that Filipinas are hard hearted as that very many of them are soft hearted and, in the Filipino meaning of the term, "hard headed" (meaning headstrong, rather than business-like)They have a man who takes care of them, and their kid(s) and then, perhaps having not enough to do, they "fall in love" (something which the culture tacitly encourages, with its adulation of "romantic love") with another man.Surprisingly often, the "other man" is younger than the married Filipina. This allows her to infantilise him, and "mother" him. Having "fallen in love", the Filipina will go to incredible lengths of wrong-headedness, "sacrificing herself" (another thing that the culture tacitly promotes) for the man she "loves", happily stealing from her husband or acknowledged lover or provider (especially if he is a foreigner) and doing so, not with shame, but with pride, and giving clothes and even jewellery to her toy boy, happily risking her family life, her children and her own good name to be with her lover.Attempts by her family and friends to make her "see sense" almost always fail - she is IN LOVE, and that is all that matters - she is living from day to day with no thought for the future, other than as a romantic daydream. Of course, being the "target" of this tidal wave of devotion and self sacrifice does the male ego no harm to begin with, and if the Lover is young and poor, and is preserved from the "dread necessity of earning bread" by the money that the besotted Filipina showers him with, the situation will continue until the husband finds out.Sadly, this is incredibly common. The Philippines is a nation of Anna Kareninas. . They just cannot help themselves. This to my mind is the biggest drawback to the Filipina as a wife or as a mistress that you pay for. if some other man is paying for her and you are not scared of his goons, then help yourself!
