JonPalawan Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Took this a couple years ago. Sometimes there are three guys wielding hammers in perfect synchronization, beating out a bolo or whatever from a truck leaf spring. Note the burn on one of the guy's leg, OSHA hasn't made it to this shop yet.
robert k Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 I saw some very fine bolos in dumaguete last trip, really nice job tempering the old fashioned way. I'm going to pick one up this trip. They were without scales so l will have to find someone to fit some suitable looking wood. I knew a guy years ago who picked up some blades in Subic, l think they were geared towards the average tourist and probably imported from India and passed off as native handiwork. Both snapped at the tang.
