Forum Support Old55 Posted December 11, 2014 Forum Support Posted December 11, 2014 LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines – Children threw stones at suspected kidnappers who had attempted to seize their schoolmate in Banaue, Ifugao. Ifugao police said a nine-year-old boy was walking home in Sitio Maluhpeng in Barangay Viewpoint at around 3:45 p.m. last Dec. 2 when a black van stopped and offered the boy a ride home. The boy reportedly refused after seeing a child with his mouth taped and seated between two men inside the van. A man near the door of the van tried to pull the boy inside, but his schoolmates who saw the incident threw stones at the van, prompting the suspects to flee. A manhunt for the suspects is underway. One would hope the powers that be won't start hauling random foreigners of the next outgoing flights this time. http://www.philstar.com/nation/2014/12/11/1401200/kids-save-schoolmate-kidnapping-ifugao
Dave Hounddriver Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 I hope this is another of those situations where the children were doing something bad and when they got caught they make up a kidnapping story so they don't get in trouble, then it gets out of hand. The story is always the same: foreigners in a van kidnapping children. I believe the story is the same as parents tell that story to their kids like a 'boogeyman' story when they are young to try and keep them in line. This could be the one time the story is real, but I am skeptical. I means kidnappers running away because 9 year olds are throwing stones at them? How can the parents believe that stuff?
Jack Peterson Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 How can the parents believe that stuff? Mainly Dave because their Kids can't do any wrong like their parents so it is easier to believe.
Jack Peterson Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 We had a couple of incidents 2/3 months ago, In one Dumaguete area where it was reported that a gang was visiting houses of foreigners and some wealthy Nationals. It was reported that this gang was asking personal Questions about the family and the Children of the House. Odd that the Parents were never at Home and was always reported by the YA YA, Nanny, call them what you like. The Police never seemed to take it too seriously other than put an extra patrol or two on for a few days. It makes me wonder if these stories come about to cover the fact that the Work in the house was not done, These Child minders all know each other from School or other Activities regarding the children. Easy, to have a Network of collusion to cover tracks with nothing proved one way or the other. JMHO But......... or am I just over zealously suspiciously minded? Maybe I should have been a crime Writer  JP :tiphat:
