Strip bars, sex dolls, Jacuzzi and methamphetamine's –that's the scene discovered inside Philippines' biggest jail when police officers conducted a raid on Monday.

 

Drug lords were allegedly seen "living like kings" and operating drug rings from luxurious cells at the Bilibid prison complex when police commandos with tracker dogs conducted the raid just before dawn, reported AFP News.

 

"They are here to serve jail time but instead, they're living like kings," Justice Secretary Leila de Lima told reporters following the police raid.

 

De Lima said police found £25,000 (1.4 million pesos) in cash, a strip bar, a jacuzzi, and inflatable sex dolls spread across 20 air-conditioned villas.

 

In one of the villas, an inflated sex doll was found on the bed while strobe lights, a mirror ball and an elevated platform for strippers were seen in an adjacent bed, confirmed police.

 

The strippers were allegedly smuggled into the compound with the assistance of officers at the jail.

 

A small concert stage along with a flat screen television and several musical instruments were amongst other findings confirmed by the police.

 

It was a scene out of a five-star hotel with marble-lined bathroom floors and walls, hot water showers and a flat screen television found attached to the bathtub.

 

A safe in one of the rooms was also found stocked with Rolex and Patek Philippe watches, Louis Vuitton wallets and several dollars.

 

De Lima expressed his shock upon finding the luxury villas inside Bilibid, housing some 23,000 powerful inmates above its capacity of 8,900 inmates.

 

Several prison officers are facing "outright dismissal" after conspiring with the inmates.

Just sounds like business as usual to me.  How many times does it have to be said that there is corruption at all levels of government from the top to the bottom.  This is one sensational front page story when there are many more that have not reported yet

You are right 'Kano. We had been hearing rumors about this. At least this one has been exposed and at least from what I can see on the news they are doing something about it. Seems like De Lima is really hot on this one. Let hope that this is just the first rung on the long ladder to rooting out the corruption. Its not going to happen overnight, probably not even during our lifetimes. But its a start.

this article althou its  " humorous" does have serious merit..

Following reports of drug lords living it up in the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa,

NBP has tied up with Maximum Security Tours (MST) to develop and market Bilibid Resort, a five-star leisure complex patterned after the penitentiary’s 20 airconditioned “villas” with jacuzzis,

sex dolls, strippers,  

concert stages, giant TV screens,

 

and bars serving   :emostrongbow:  “mind-blowing concoctions” in liquid, crystalline, powdered, inhaled and injected forms. :hystery:

 

 

 

 

 

“We thank our millionaire inmates from the narcotics sector for this new source of income for Bilibid and its convicts,” said a top prison official. He spoke anonymously to avoid being summoned and visited by senators seeking media coverage. Imprisoned narco-kings funded the original leisure houses.

 

MST will invest P175 million to build 30 more villas with the same baths, beats and babes,

plus three swimming pools with water slides,

a game arcade with a smoking section,

bank branches, 

    and a prison break jungle trail with guards hunting tourists with paint guns.   :1 (72):

 

 

Depending on market response, Bilibid Resort may add a golf course, 

 

a firing range, a shabu-shabu restaurant,  :558:

 

and a clubhouse and garden like the plush Nueva Ecija home of suspended Philippine National Police Chief Alan Purisima. The resort will contract the same firm that built his estate for a mere P2.5 million.

 

MST has likewise contacted Purisima’s car dealer seeking discounts of P1.5 million per sports utility vehicle for a fleet of Toyota Prada SUVs for use of guests paying $650 a day, plus-plus.

MST also plans to acquire the Maserati sportscar involved in the recent scuffle with a Metro Manila traffic aide,

for a road rage and car chase track.

 

 

The company initially targets wealthy convicts from the country and the region.

Besides narco-tycoons, the resort should attract insider traders, pyramid scammers,

and corrupt politicians,

including losers of China power struggles.     

Alleged pork barrel operators and their accused senatorial clients may visit too, with Sandiganbayan permission.

 

Bilibid Resort offers its captive market high-security transport from and to the clients’ detention centers

and the most memorable prison experience laundered money can buy.

 

 

  :thats-funny:  A presidential villa will be ready for occupancy when malversation charges over the Disbursement Acceleration Program are eligible for prosecution in mid-2016.
