Thomas Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 (I will probably not need car any much concerning total driving distance per month, but inconvinient to not have any when living rurak, so a cheap car as a Toyota MT can be enough.) I know many Totota MTs ARE miodified ILLEGAL (with extra lights and such) without anyone bother - when Filipins do it :) - but I wonder how to make modifications LEGAL. There excist Toyota MTs, which are EXACT as I want them, BUT they are very rare, so I thought of buying "any" Toyota MT and CHANGE it to how I want it. Anyone knowing IF these types of modifcations need any action to make it legal? : ALL of them are just "standard" things, which some Toyota MTs HAVE. 1. change to 4 WD ? 2, > automatic gearbox ? 3, > hardtop with doors ? 4, replace engine (IF it's bad.) If so Get approval by which establishment? Any hint of time needed to be approved and fees?
Jack Peterson Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 If so Get approval by which establishment? Any hint of time needed to be approved and fees? Thomas, I would hazard a guess that all the modifications will need to be reported to LTO, Like most countries, The Construction and Use part of the law will come in, you may well need a new Registration Certificate to amend the original. Looking up the LTO Website I am sure, will tell you more. JP
Thomas Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Thank you. (Not sure about engine replacement, but concerning pther modifications it was realy stupid earlier in Sweden, each had to do a CRASH test :hystery: but they came to sensed and skiped that.)
