northtoalaska Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 hello I'm planning on a trip to south Leyte in March. We will be driving down from Ormoc. I'm wondering if there are any (new) safety concerns with travel to that area? Thanks so much cf
Hesalright Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Hi There is no specific travel advice from U.S state department regarding Southern Leyte. "Exercise a high degree of caution throughout the Philippines" I dont think you will have any issues its not the rainy season so no mudslides. Forum Support Old55 Posted February 11, 2015 Forum Support Posted February 11, 2015 The Sogod Bay area is safe and many Foreigners live there along the Eastern shoreline from Padre Burgos all the way north to Sogod. The West side is very rural and in the past (not sure now) there has been a long history of small time NPA activity but none involving Foreigners.
