The budget so far, know let me think,

I shall do all this in peso and the rate shall be 65 to the pound

We sent over at first 364,000 peso, this got the project going, and then it stopped

Another 26,000 just before Christmas, and if you see the pictures the down stairs was done but just the bear essentials,

The next big push was after our visit this new year,

We agreed to pay for the lot ourselves,

I have sent over another 182,000, and what you see in the last pictures is where we are at,

The foreman and we agreed a fixed price to build it all in 7 weeks it will be painted, electrics and plumbing and all finished to what we are wanting,

His fee for this is 200000 fixed,

I am thinking in total around 700,000 to 800,000 ,

We have brought all the meterail ourselves,

Them stairs are leading to the boys shower room, i said to make it bigger so i can use it, say did down a little more, but they are happy as it is,

The rest of the house is just dandy i think,

Lots more rebar going into the beams ready to fit the roof, windows well they know a chap who can come to site and make each one , but we have a price already in place for the job lot, so if he can beat that well i will go with him,

The foreman Roland recommended him  and so far this man has done a great job,

Cant wait to see the next batch of pictures but hes lost his phone again, so may be a while,

Everything i think is on track, the budget well its getting used for the right things,

Can i ask this from you lot, if the job is done and we are very happy with it, do i treat them all or what they agreed on the price is that enough,

Yup! Been told the same thing by a couple different people... When you have a work crew and they do a good job, you treat then to a small feast and brew... If the didn't do a great job, still treat but much smaller feast and brews... If you give nothing, it's like losing face...

I have never seen anyone cure concrete properly in the Philippines. For columns and beams, formworks are coming of the very next day.On poured floorslabs they also start building the outer walls the day after pooring. And nobody keeps the concrete wet, they just let it dry in the sun...

You raise a very good point but in my old place my experience was different.  The guys there did it all according to the current conventions, I made sure of that.  They were a little irritated that they had a day of no work but hey, that's life.  Funny thing is I suspect they knew what I was talking about, but thought they could get away with it.

I don't know, but perhaps

/it's not needed in rain forest moist climate?

/or because many Filipinos put much more water in the concrete when they mix it?
