It is a shame we get a few d..heads on the forum, but that is unfortunately reality.  They obviously did not read the subject of the discussion, we were talking about values in MARRIAGE.  i do not see how that relates to whether they worked in a bar!

So to the OP's that try to sabotage genuine and intelligent discussions, please keep the stupid, unwanted comments to yourself (probably the only friend you have got).

JGW and all Admin workers, thanks for trying to keep these idiots off the forum.

Good to hear the impressions of one who has experience with both Thai and Filipina women, Mogo51.  I've always heard that Thai's are more business-like in their relations with foreigners and Filipinas are typically more open to longer, real relationships with us.  Maybe the language barrier and lack of societal acceptance plays a role in the Thai ladies mostly assuming a more aloof stance with foreigner relations.  Different countries for different purposes, and I think almost everyone agrees with you.  But most of us on the forum are already invested here in some manner, so we are a bit biased :)

Completely off topic, but my next exploration of The Philippines is Leyte/Samar Larry, I'd be interested to know your impressions.  I'll send you a PM.  I love the Visayas, it's almost like a different country to the North, I speak a little Visaya (Cebuano dialect).

Hi Larry45, that is a very accurate description of the difference between the two countries females and as soon as I read your comment made me realise how spot on it is.  I am fortunate to have met a filipino in Thailand and could not be happier with our relationship.

Whenever I spoke to the Thai partner, it was always eventually about money.  That is never raised by my Filipino partner.  I recall asking the Thai what were the plans for our future, her reply, not have, tomorrow you may die!!  That sums it up.

Mogo as much as it hurts me to say this, I think you may find that will change when you are Living here and she has her family around, albeit not next Door But..................................... It is a very unfortunate fact of life that the Filipino's life revolves around Money, and usually they have none so..................it becomes a big Topic, Food needs Money and Money is Food

There has been plenty of talk about unfaithful Filipino men. Who is it that they are unfaithful with? It takes two to tangle.

Now look around the malls streets around Manila and QC. What do you see? You see girls roaming around like ants on a 5:1 or even 10:1 ratio over men.  Where are the men? Well working, maybe. And working as OFW, there are vast numbers of women OFW's but the men out number them.

Not by much they don't. There are only 11 male OFW's for every 10 women and there are regional variations too. In south Mindanao female OFW's outnumber male ones 2 to 1. I wouldn't be all that surprised that there seems to be more women than men in a shopping mall just as I wouldn't be all that surprised if there weren't that many women on a basketball court. In the younger age groups males always outnumber women everywhere due to their higher birth rates. The higher male death rate doesn't start to kick into overall numbers until past the age of 40. That's when women start to outnumber men for the first time. This idea that women outnumber men is a heterosexual male fantasy based around the principle of selective perception. There's actually more young men than young women. But heterosexual men just see the women.

Since this is a topic on "High Filipina Marriage Values," I hate to be a rainy-cloud on your shiny-parade but, I believe that you are wrong--if this is regarding the Phil's. If this is pertaining to the Phil's, do you have any proof to this claim?

Mate, ref your quote...you are quoting and replying to who? It has come back to me, but I was quoting Callipo. I think Callipo might have already been banned for trolling..not sure.

Who are you quoting and what statement are you refuting?

EDIT: I guess you replying to the highlighted segment.

No, really, there are 10 girls for every boy here!   haha  It's not true, but it sure seems like it sometimes, so it's very believable.  The birth rates here are average, but mortality rate for young Filipino men is very high (motorcycle accidents, killings, and other bravado failures).  The OFW situation is also very balanced with the sexes, although many more skilled workers being exported are males.  But that doesn't explain it, either.  When foreigners are out and about, most of our interactions with the locals, ,be it shopping, paying bills, or a night out....almost all of our interactions are with females.  It tends to distort our perceptions.

And BrettGC, most foreigners that are older....they tend to love it here in Leyte.  But most of the younger guys I've met...they've had the same experiences as me.  The women are nice, but the guys here resent you and are always trying to show you up.  I've made a few friends in the locals,  but for every respectful, considerate, polite local you meet, there are a hundred of the others.  Tacloban was even worse for me than Ormoc, so I can only imagine how much discrimination and hated I would get in Samar.  The Filipino friends that I have, they are all business owners and career types.  We share common goals and mindsets and they don't resent me for being here.  It's just hard to find REAL friends here, unless you want to buy them. Just my experience.
