Thomas Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Filipino languages contain many Spanish words however I have never heard of anybody using mil here to mean thousand. I HOPE I have never heared it  because many Filipinos MIX languages often, and it would be very CONFUSING if they sometimes mean the Spanish and sometimes mean shorted English. (I BELIEVE they ment the later, when they have said it to me, because they have (mainly) spoken English then, because they know I'm very bad at Tagalog and Cebuano :)
