Thomas Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 they just go for best odds, and can "think" much faster than humans... Computers don't think Thomas, the act on what a programmer tells is to do when it is programmed. That's why I had put the " " marks :)
Dave Hounddriver Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 (edited) Can any of the online poker players recommend a 'coaching' program that runs alongside your hands, gives you the odds and recommendations along with keeping track of the hands you've played to analyze trends? Heck, maybe I could even get a piece of software to play the hand for me and then I can leave the game running and make money while I sleep :hystery: But as to those guys who say the games are fixed to favor beginners, I concur. For the first 2 days it seemed like I could not lose and on the 3rd day I could not get a winning hand. Same style of play for all three days. Might be just a slump or there might be something to that 'game fixing'. EDIT: When I go online and search for these 'coaching' programs I found one of the top online sites has a list of 30 or more of the 'legal and authorized' software programs and another list of 30 or more of the 'prohibited' software programs. Hmmmm. Which to choose. And the saga goes on. Edited March 22, 2015 by Dave Hounddriver

Thomas Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 For the first 2 days it seemed like I could not lose and on the 3rd day I could not get a winning hand. So perhaps it can be a good strategy to play only 2 days, and then SWITCH to OTHER poker site... :)
Dave Hounddriver Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 so what have you won so far,???? Played in a tournament for 4 hours last night. 380 entrants. $2 to enter. Finished in 19th place. Won $7. I'm gonna get so rich at that rate :36_1_68[1]: Well maybe I'm not gonna get rich but it beats losing.

Popular Post Dave Hounddriver Posted March 26, 2015 Author Popular Post Posted March 26, 2015 (edited) Update Week 1 So its just over 1 week into my online poker "career" and here's how it goes. You, a rookie who has played a little kitchen table poker, CAN make money playing online poker and here is how: As mentioned previously, I put $10 into the poker bank and that is my 'seed money'. The site gives a $5 bonus to match your money so you play with that bonus on the real money 'cash tables' and don't touch your $10 bank. Now the way to make money without risk is to play the FREE tournaments. You need a lot of patience and time commitment but when you win a little it is all profit as the tournaments are FREE. It seems the poker sites sponsor these tournaments to keep interest going. So no gambling there, just patience and a little luck. Using this strategy I have accumulated a small bank of $35. Its incredibly small for the time commitment as this consumes about 30 to 40 hours a week of my time, but its FUN. Examples: The free tournaments sometimes start at ridiculous times of the day like 4:30 am so I set the alarm, wake up and play around with it for 2 hours. At the end of that time I win ONE US$. Had I been the number 1 winner I would have got $100 but that not likely for me. Yesterday I played a free tournament for 3 hours to win 80 cents. So this might compete with Philippine minimum wage but most foreigners would laugh at the small returns per hour. But there is no risk. If you decide to do it, have fun. I know I am. But be cool and don't send more money that you can afford to lose. Edited March 26, 2015 by Dave Hounddriver
Forum Support scott h Posted March 26, 2015 Forum Support Posted March 26, 2015 (edited) but its FUN That the key to it IMHO Dave. If your having fun, go for it. But like any business, once the business starts loosing money? Time to padlock the doors and move on. Good luck and have fun Edited March 26, 2015 by scott h

Theese tournaments with comparingly low prices have easier competition than the tournaments where the profesional/good players participate normaly. But as you say, it's fun for you. Not many hobbies earn money :)
