frosty (chris) Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Went and visited Oslob last week to see the whale sharks and if any of you ever get the chance do yourself a favour and go. We left Mactan, Cebu 4am in a rented car ( 2000pesos car, 1000pesos fuel, driver 1500pesos) was an uneventful trip, road was ok, little traffic about and arrived around 7am. The cost to dive with the whales is 1000 pesos for foreigners and 500 for locals, they supply you with life vest, goggles and snorkel, the actually swimming area is only about 100 metres from the shore and the crew we had were terrific. The whales are brought up very close to the boat but you are not aloud to touch them, but you are only maybe a metre away and there tails sometimes scrap you as they past, as they past your boat you can just swim along as they go. Nothing much to do after the swim there, only the souvenir shop and that's about it. On the trip back about 2 k's is the Tumalog Waterfalls, is about 10 minute drive up a very steep incline, entry is 50 pesos each. When you get to the car park you can walk to the falls, I would suggest you take your swimming gear with you, the water is so refreshing, the walk down is ok and you can catch a motorbike for 30 pesos each way, again well worth the visit. We stayed for an hour or so was such a beautiful place. Stopped at a nice resto on the way home, perched on top of a hill with sweeping views of the ocean, nice breeze was blowing, for five of us for brunch was 1800 pesos, food was good as everyone cleaned their plate. Trip back to Mactan again was uneventful, took about three and a half hours, traffic a bit heavier but not any problems. Hi 55, you go right ahead and post your pics always good to see things from some one else perspective.
