Dave Hounddriver Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Is it real or special effects? I thought it was real from the newspaper report here http://www.philstar.com/cebu-news/2015/06/16/1466523/six-people-hurt-theater-roof-collapse But if folks are making light of the situation then perhaps it was staged? Or were people actually hurt in what is thought to be one of the safest malls in Cebu?

Dave Hounddriver Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 another example of PINOY construction techniques [?? Possible, But then how would we explain the ones in other countries like this one in Canada https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algo_Centre_Mall I suspect it may just be in the category of: sh&t Happens.

I agree DAVE , in Canada they will learn from their construction mistakes and recitfy so it will not happen again or at least reduce the risk(factors),, here it will repeat it self again and again and again..
Jack Peterson Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 One of the main Problems here is MAINTENANCE , a word that seems to be missing in a lot of Areas. PPM is a must in these types of Places. Planned Preventative Maintenance It has been reported that a faulty Sprinkler system was to blame. These Systems should be Checked 6 monthly as per manufacturers recommended instructions but once again? Why were the BFP not Inspecting the Cinema. If they state they did (As happened in Dumaguete not long ago) the report would have been false. the BFP should have known that the system was faulty Once again an Accident looking to happen and Did. But who is to Blame, No one of Course. JP :tiphat: I hope JB has a little to say about the BFP and checking of Sprinkler Systems
