Gratefuled Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Without reading all the suggestions, I suggest buying and external hard drive. Transfer everything you want to save to the external hard drive. This will free up a lot of space. Dump what you don't need or want. Get your wife an external hard drive of her own if she has stuff that she wants to save. You would be surprised at how much stuff you can store in an external hard drive. I'm not talking about a small USB stick.

Thats is a good suggestion but the OP's problem was D drive, not C so you can't store or it would be pointless with D drive stuff on an external drive in my opinion. The best thing to do with D drive is to open the folders and see what's in there as there could be leftover stuff from a deleted program.

I have mine set up with all the operating system and programs etc on the C drive. My D drive is where I store all my music and movies etc. I have it partitioned with 400G on the C and 600G on the D. Works for me that way! I also have both a 250G and 1000G back up drives.
