Jack Peterson Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 it seems to be the tone of the entire article. Well we have all been here long enough to know that it is always someone else's fault We are never to blame for our own mistakes. Filipino's number 3 Rule.

Forum Support Mike J Posted July 22, 2015 Forum Support Posted July 22, 2015 Forgive me if I sound insensitive, it is not my intent, but if these ladies are prostitutes as the article states, how do they know who the father is?

Thomas Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 All I see is a guy who stopped making child support payments. Right or wrong that happens in every neighborhood, every city, every country in the world. Not news. How about the authority in the country? How about laws and law enforcement? The problem could be reduced by/Phils COOPERATE with "western countries" to FORCE foreigners to pay child support if they run to their home countries. Sweden have such system INSIDE Sweden and I asume it can be adjusted easy to be used for abroad living kids too, IF it can't allready. /Of course have similar force to pay support system INSIDE PHILS too. As it is now many FILIPINO husbands just leave their legal family and start a new one WITHOUT bother to pay anything to his legal family... :bash:
chris49 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Forgive me if I sound insensitive, it is not my intent, but if these ladies are prostitutes as the article states, how do they know who the father is? How about free government birth control, which is available under the Reproductive Health Act. It's so cold, but it must be considered that if a girl is working in prostitution, why is she having unprotected sex? This does not happen in Thailand. Even if unprotected, how about the Depo Vera injections available in every barangay health center? So don't tell me it's not available in Angeles. If not why not, in a place where an estimated 100,000 Angle Americans have been born since the 70's, the Vietnam era.

"Day after" pills/injections are a step further than PRE-protection as e g condoms. Are the "Day after" included in that Act? The parlament had problems geting the law through anyway, the catholic church fought it in the Supreem court, where it was let through finaly. I just GUESS "Day after" pills are harder to be accepted in a catholic country, so perhaps they didn't included them to get better chance to get the law through? chris49 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Not included, not even sure If they are available by Rx in the pharmacies but I think no. I live 200 metres from a Barangay Health Center. Ate Winnie and her daughter are the health officers. The nurse comes one a week. The nurse brings the Depo injections with her. Birth Control pills are available, I think free, but remember we are a small barangay. What I'm saying is that the Gov't should have adequate supplies of injections and pills at Angeles, a hot spot. Shouldn't teams of health workers be roaming Angeles even at night getting this information out.
chris49 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Cytotec btw is available, a "friend" told me. Under the table @ 100-150 per tablet. Cytotec is not a morning after pill, but similar. It will induce menstruation up to 4-6 weeks after conception.

That's kind of an ABORTION, that's why I guessed such wasn't included in this Act, and if it isn't included, then I suppouse it's ILLEGAL in Phils, and then it isn't odd if the legal health system don't have them.
