Thanks Ron. And just want to make it clear that I have avoided Prescribing meds, although from time to time I will make comments of the availability, the pricing, and eg, generics, which I am a big fan of. But keep in mind the quality control on meds from India, Indonesia, etc, might be a bit variable. Always worth a try due to cost factors.

It seems to work the same but after years on pain killers, not a lot fixes the pain it only masks it for awhile. Why did they pull Celebrex.do you know? I won't swear to it but I believe it caused severe ulcers in some and increased risk of heart attack and stroke in higher dosages. (I knew about the stomach, I looked up the other just now). The thing is that some people it didn't effect. I always thought doctors were supposed to be monitoring this stuff which is why in the US we can't get even antibiotics without a prescription except some creams.

I was on celebrex about 20 years ago following knee surgery before they took it off market. I read that some people suffered heart attacks while taking it. It's ironic, a couple of years ago an orthopedic surgeon kept pushing prescriptions for vicodin and oxy after I had major reconstructive surgery on my ankle/foot. Besides these narcotic pain meds being highly addictive and widely abused, they made me sick to my stomach. Interesting that a pain management specialist recommended medical marijuana (California). I used it a few times and was amazed that my pain went away. Not just short term, but for over a year I didn't have any pain. I only needed it every once in awhile when cold and rainy weather caused my arthritis to flare. Something big pharma doesn't want us to know about natural remedies for many of our ailments. Unfortunately, that treatment isn't an option here in Philippines. However, as I said in earlier post I can manage my pain using lidocaine patches as needed. mogo51 Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) That is an interesting post. I have been on various pain killers nerve and muscle with some reasonable results but nothing startling. I am really in constant pain most of the time, but not extreme pain. If I go off the nerve pain tabs I am in a bit of trouble. I swim and exercise daily to keep mobile. I have not tried medical marijuana as Australia is still in the dim dark ages in that area. Normal mj does nothing for me, but I can't stand smoking anything so I gave it up very quickly. I took some heavy codeine based tablets in Oz before I came here fulltime and passed out, fell off the dunny seat! Haven't taken codeine since. Jack my good friend, I tried acupuncture many times, but found if I had a drink afterwards, I looked like a water fountain? Some relief for a short while Jack. Once I went to Udon Thani up north just to see this Vietnamese/Thai lady who was supposed to be the ace witch doctor. She put about 50 needles into me, hooped up to the power and it cos a sh...load but worked for a few days. About 10 months ago, I was told of a doctor in Bangkok/Pattaya Rip Off Hospital who had magic injections cost me another sh..laod and lasted a week. I doubt there is anything I have not tried, other than medical marijuana and would like to give that a go. If it does not fix the back pain, at least I'll be off my face!!!

I started on the Flat about 5 km a day. Now I do about 20 with a couple of little hillocks. As they say at the Gym No pain, no gain but I would not give in to a back Problem that in many cases is a muscle and nerve problem. The thing with most back Suffers is they will not exercise, Yes swimming is good but you are weightless so it is only your Arms and legs getting real benefit. Mate you just gotta get that back Working a Little.

Where i am is very hilly, and lots of traffic, so may wait till I settle into life in PHils to take up your suggestion which I appreciate. I can't lean over a bike though as my lower back looks looks like a Mechano set put together by a lunatic!. So will have o get one that I can sit up on, ie like a mountain bike but don't want any mountains??? Did you walk like a ruptured duck for awhile until you got used to it Jack?
