Thomas Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 If you don't really plan to transport a large family then the Suzuki Jimney may be perfect for you. Its cheap and rugged and you see them everywhere. Any of my friends that have them say good things about them. I have ridden with them and the vehicle fits a tall foreign man and seats 4 comfortably. Yes. If I will need a better car than the Toyota MT or Suzuki Minivan, then I will buy (used) something like that or a Kia Sportage if they are big enough for a foreign driver, I haven't tested. you never know when you will need more space for a few relative That's a reason to have a SMALL car  to try to avoid to need to drive people around all the time...
earthdome Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) E.g., here is the truck you need for your next trip! It has auto or manual: http://www.chevroletcolorado.com.ph/ Wow!! You can drive through water almost 3 feet deep! (34") If I move back to the Philippines and live in the province that just might be the truck for me. The Trailblazer is supposed to about 31 inches (800 mm) and I will be happy if I never get close to that! That was actually one reason for choosing it. You never can tell when you might get caught in a flood. Manila is worse than the river in the picture! I drove into a flash flood one very dark night in a torrential downpour on a city street 2 blocks from where I lived. Storm drain just couldn't handle the volume. I tried to stop but got in too far and the car was floating a bit by then and I couldn't back out. Sigh. Water flooded in to just below the dash. Car was never the same after that. That new Chevy Colorado truck would have had no problem.
