Popular Post PaulB Posted October 15, 2015 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) I have been reading a lot about poor workmanship and overpaying. I feel the same applies in all countries so you either get lucky or not. You can also make your own luck by choosing wisely, visit previous projects, get recommendations and make a choice. No guarantee but the more research the less risk involved. For all those interested this is the journey of our retirement house in Isabela Province. It has taken a year and even though we were outside the country it has been done well. It is bullt on a hectare of land and fully furnished and has not been expensive. I have my 13A visa so also have my name on deeds. We also have a farm down the road and are constructing a water station in the very near future. Now need to do 5 more years of work between Abu Dhabi and time off in the Philippines but then this will be 100% home. There is a second post with more pictures and me actually farming (for 10 minutes)...... Your dream can come true too!! 31_n.jpg] Edited October 15, 2015 by PaulB
william_c Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Only item I see that may be suspect is the placement of what appears to be 12 mm vertical rebar placed on 1 meter centers for the interior walls. Is that the minimum standard?

Is that the minimum standard? William_c Thank you for pointing that out. We have tested the internal bedroom wall with a lot of headboard banging and it seems to be holding up. I don't intend to attach the handcuffs directly to the wall so hopefully all will be good. Keep you posted.

PaulB Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 May I ask, if your mostly outside the country whom is over seeing the project.? My Father in Law was the man on site. He made sure what we paid for was delivered and good quality. He also filled the fridge (and unfortunately the freezer) with San Miguel Lights!
