Chris do you not find that Odd? Surely to me anyway, the Actual Presence I would have thought would be a prerequisite as they are asked to acknowledge the fact of being a god parent by the priest and they are asked if they acknowledge/Understand the Meaning of Such in the Guidance of  the Infant. 

I am not a religious person but some may say well isn't that somewhat a Little Hypocritical?

My Wife once told me when I did not want to go to the Church, Hey! this is about a Blessing not just the Food After. I smarted for some time after that and have to admit, I changed my views on things somewhat but as we say Each to our own.

In this area with the amount of god fathers named it has been a tradition to rely on the principal sponsors.  I think it works better because after a few years there are so many interconnections, it's hard to keep track of.

 

I was asked to be a god father and I noticed my name was 171 (one hundred and seventy one) on the list. I hardly took it seriously as they were friend of friend. It's over 2 years now, I have not seen the other party since.

Emma is a God mother to many.you don't see them for years but they know when she is back in the country fhey seem to come round with there other brothers and sisfers all waiting for the cash in the hand shake .if you get my driff

We attended the briefing and seminar yesterday at the church. Principal sponsors did attend or single representative if husband and wife.

:omg:  You say! Well a few asked for the Follow up so If I may I will. So that people don't get Bored with things may I can Do it in 2 Posts.

Firstly can I say it was a long Night, mainly because it was an important night to many. Certainly for this Young lady    beautiful EH? Now this Young Lady was an Only child, Unfortunatley Mama had a few problems with having more in fact there were 2 infant deaths as is sometime the case here in the PI even with some money. ( I won't dwell on this) Enough to say this made it all the more of a Special night. It was Lavish for a local thing but not as lavish as some i have been to but for the proud parents, they had worked hard and saved over the years to make sure that Cha,Cha, ( Celeste) had her night.   

 

When I was getting ready for our Bit  Disaster struck me, The heel of my Shoe became detached :hystery:

Luckily My Wife's boss had a Spare pair in the Boot of his car (Phew) so although a tad small. I hobbled to the Stage. but before this let me put some photos up so it shows that even laborers and Poor Teachers can give a Good Do.

  

 

 So the night went on

OK Coffee done and a Snout ( Smoke tut tut) lets continue, I have been on a Mike (Microphone) 000's of times up front in my Aircraft remembering maybe I am (Ex-RAF) but there was always someone on the other end to talk but when you are stood in front of 200+ people and can only see faces that are straining to listen to the ONLY Foreigner there, I had to remember to speak properly and slowly, My original speech went out of the window, you know all the things about 18 year olds', the others seemed to do that, so based on something the Compere said about remembering things in her earlier years I went Ad-Lib but before that, let me put the rest of the Photos up so I can see what to say next. not too many as they will not mean a lot to you my friends here but just illustrate the Night.

 

 

 

So my Wife went first   She did well.

 

When my time came HUH! Mike Shy at first.

* basically I said Cha, Cha do you remember the 2nd time we met?  a nod and smile came. (She knew it was coming) So I said to the Audience, This young lady has more Spunk than Crocodile Dundee. At that time, you said to me, so you are Shag, Shang's ( my daughter) Dad. She said to me ( 9 Years ago now) Your very Big & have no hair but Shang Likes you. The Only thing is she wonders what people will say cos you Don't look like each other.  :hystery: ( I was the Step Dad Remember) but kids are kids, then they grow up

 

Audience in Stitches at this one, so when it all died down, I said the main bit I wanted to, I got her up (Sorry no Photo of this,shame) held her hand and said " Your Innocence then and you maturity now will stand you in good stead for today and tomorrow even all days. To close this little Parody I used my old Signature I used to have here. Cha Cha, You are 18 now but Remember " Life is not a Rehearsal, it is for living, Live it wisely" and Please always Remember Tonight and the people who made it happen, Mama & Papa. Look after them when they need you. 

 Well Folks it may not seem much to you but that Night I got the Biggest Kick out of an  Applause I have ever had or likely to have in the future ( maybe they like what i said EH?

 

So all went well and if I may can I just Finish with a few more Photos.
