OnMyWay Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 I was wondering what the impact of APEC in Manila is? I saw some pictures of EDSA with 1.5 lanes closed to the public for the VIPS. So much for the common man. We are impacted in Subic by the hoards of tourists who have escaped here. I saw some arriving yesterday but today there are a lot more. Very busy here and many NCR plates driving with their Manila "skills". It should be a good week for ticket writing here. And there is a marathon here this weekend. I have seen a few runners doing short warm up runs.

Having said that, I hear that we will have a back log of Flights for a few days but then this can be a norm for Dumaguete and Area. Forum Support Popular Post scott h Posted November 19, 2015 Forum Support Popular Post Posted November 19, 2015 We are impacted in Subic by the hoards of tourists who have escaped here OTW...hahahahha Laughing with you not at you...My funny story is I live in Southern Manila, and my brother in law (a Phil Gov employee) said "lets go to Tagayatay!" I said you are nuts every tom dick and harry will be on the roads. He said We are going!..They went and spent 6 hours in traffic coming back. How it affected us here in Manila? Don't recall what part of the states your from but the best example I can draw is if your home city ever hosted a super bowl. Total shutdown. And like when San Diego hosted the super bowl all I did was hunker down. The roads were so screwed up that every jeepney was full and I would stand on the main road near my house and watch all the folks walking to work. It looked like one huge funeral procession that lasted for hours.

Mike S Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 It took my poor brother-in-law 4 hours to get home from work and he gets off at 11:00pm..... he tried to call in the next day but his boss told him he better show up or else .... Well with all the hot air and promises that were never intended on being kept I'm sure all the honchos went home feeling good about themselves ..... if they had spent all the money it took to put that shin-dig on and gave it to building of houses for the poor or medicine and health-care they would have been a lot better off .....
