Shannon Hayes Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Hi everyone, I am going to Cebu for the 1st time next month with my brother. He is planning on retiring there, and will be house hunting. Does anyone have a suggestion for a hotel that is in a safe area? Thanks! Forum Support Old55 Posted December 29, 2015 Forum Support Posted December 29, 2015 Hi Shannon, I'm thinking you will stay in Cebu City? Most Cebu City hotels are safe except a few near the old downtown Colon area. If your brother plans to live somewhat outside of Cebu City homes are cheaper and the air cleaner. Dave Hounddriver Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Cebu is huge. Transportation is atrocious. My best advice is to decide which area of Cebu you will spend the majority of your time and then look for a hotel. Its what I do every time I visit there.
Jollygoodfellow Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 A lot depends on your budget. From my past experience I would recommend the Montebello hotel. Not cheap but a nice place. Perhaps the Parklane, used to have a great buffet but don't know about now. In the last few years a lot of hotel have been built. There really is a lot of choices. Best to click on this link to search for hotels, if you book from here you help support the cost of running this forum in a very small way. cyberbro Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Marco Polo if you want a great view of the city and upscale feel. The Henry if you like offbeat, different and big rooms. The Mandarin if you want a clean basic room close to the mall. None of these are in a "Bad" area
