I had to provide proof of identity as I am a regularly transfer money has anybody else come across this.I understand why they asked for ID but have not heard of it before for such a small amount. Huggybearman Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Yes, I have come across this before. In Dubai, about three years ago, I had to provide my passport to send via Western Union to Phils. About the same time from Paris to Phils I was also asked for ID. But in Thailand, I have never been asked. I guess it can vary with local regulations.
