No allowance is given.

The problem is that the sister must have complained or moaned to her husband about this for him to have to say something while drunk

Why didn't you send enough for a "Goodbye Philippines" fireworks with strict instructions that the brother hugs it when lit.  :th_noproblem:

OK Steve, Like you didn't need this just now but I just can't get my head around why the Sister complained or moaned about something they should be Doing anyway, helping the Family.

At this time you are more than 1/2 the way around the World on Vacation what exactly do they expect you and Ems to Do?

I thought I had it but seems you may be Vying for the Family from Hell Trophy   :hystery:  ( Sorry But........... Couldn't resist this one.)

Jack :)

Because we have no commitments we should pay for everything I am being told.

Well I do have commitments her name is Emma and yes we do help her dad,but it seems just because they chose to have kids it seems they all there money tied up with them.

Remember they are in Abu Dhabi tax free wages no rent to pay and she is earning loads of money as a sister in a hospital.

But maybe buying cars ,the latest fashion cloths and booze for her man is more important,oh yes I forgot her wage goes into his bank and he sends money to his family too.

It's a funny old world ain't it

Always his family house.as that is where they will retire to once they move back to the Philippines.

You have to try to be one step ahead of the critter's, plus now I can see Emma getting a little angry with all the crap too.

Hey Ho back to the holiday ,moving day today, back to Orlando

At this moment my wife is chatting about the health of her sister. The topic is how much is the sisters treatment for her cancer. The husband is a trycicle driver. If we send $500 dollars, will it really make a difference. I doubt if it will, what should we do?

That would be a good sub topic.

Assuming the diagnosis and the back story is correct, as in many cases you have a difficult decision to make. There is no way you can bear the full cost of cancer treatment, so you make an estimate of what you can afford and pro rate the amount.

About $200, 9-10k pesos. It will not save her but it at least is not a flat "no". You might get hit up for funeral expenses, and maybe another 10 k.

Or you give nothing.

I give a token amount for a real life situation.

I told Myrlita if I ever get cancer as in Stage 3 or 4, to just let me go in dignity. Why blow money we don't have if it just prolongs an agonizing death? I want to live not just exist.

Now we are home, its getting to me this twit of a bil,

I feel that I must say something to him about his aggressive way he spoke to my wife, OK he was drunk but that is not a excuss in my book, Ems just would like to leave it be.

Her sister and bil have been funny with Ems since I did not lend/ give them the money they wanted I do know that and to tell the truth I think they are joulouse of Emma . maybe just my thoughts but that's what I feel,.

So do I tell him to be a man knowing I shall never see him again or leave and ignore them both,

Be careful Steve. You never what someone could be capable of doing when drunk and angry.

Yes, do be careful, Jack.

My father in law, a man I like a lot, did three years in prison for homicide - it was not more because it was self defence - this was before he met my mother in law and was a young man - he had been drinking with friends and had had a bit of an argument - he had gone off to bed and the fellow who had had the worst of the argument came at him with a knife when he was asleep - luckily for him he woke, and  being a young fit man at the time he defended himself; in the fracas the would be killer was stabbed to death with his own knife...

I knew a smart man in Cebu who would have made the loan, charged 10% per month interest, held onto the motorcycle for security until the debt was paid, and one of the conditions was that the lender and his employees/family could ride the motorcycle until the debt was paid.  He did the same thing with cars.  Amazingly, people still borrowed from him.  Unfortunately he broke up with his wife and is not in business any more so no need for anyone to pm me and ask for his contact info  :hystery:
